Dry Stone Walls

A craftsman at work

Pete Fletcher has had many years experience in the craft of dry stone walling. A dry stone wall is constructed without any mortar to bind the stones together. The stones are selected with care and placed to make a structure of interlocking pieces that is long-lasting and very strong.

Pete has built and restored dry stone walls in many different situations - traditional field boundaries, driveway entrances, in courtyards and also as part of an ornamental garden design.

He has used them to edge pools, ponds and moats where the stones provide shelter for wild life as well as places for mosses and lichen to grow.
